Download the Ontario Government's Fall 2012 Proposals for Reforming The Accessibility Provisions of the Ontario Building Code

March 28, 2013

SUMMARY

In the fall of 2012, the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing of the Ontario Government conducted a public consultation, to conclude on March 1, 2013, on its proposals to reform and improve the accessibility provisions of the Ontario Building Code. The Government circulated a plain language explanation of its proposed reforms, and a longer technical document setting out its proposed reforms. The longer technical document was only made available in PDF, despite the fact that PDFs are well known as being able to present significant accessibility problems for some people with disabilities.
