FURTHER DETAILS ON GOVERNMENT’S INFORMATION SESSIONS ON BILL 107’S PRIVATIZATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS ENFORCEMENT

November 7, 2007

SUMMARY

Below we set out further information that the Ontario Government recently provided on its series of public information sessions on Bill 107’s privatization of human rights enforcement in Ontario.

We encourage everyone to attend these sessions and to ask detailed questions about the as-yet unexplained plans for the controversial Bill 107’s implementation. For a list of important questions that we need answered, that you can print up and circulate at these public information sessions, visit
http://www.aodaalliance.org/strong-effective-aoda/10242007.asp

It appears that these sessions may not be the public consultations that former Attorney General Michael Bryant promised last January. They may instead merely be an effort by the Government to explain what they are doing. Regardless, it is important to raise any concerns and make any proposes you feel are important.

The Government hasn’t provided a TTY number for RSVP among the RSVP information provided below. We note that the Toronto session on November 16, 2007 appears regrettably to be in a non-central location. We hope that this doesn’t deter interested people from attending. Send us your feedback at:
